Awesome learning resources for the Mike Perry – Land/Sea exhibition

‘Land/Sea’ focusses on the coastline and rugged landscapes of West Wales, where Mike Perry lives and works. Collecting and photographing man-made objects washed up on beaches, and recording in forensic detail the landscape around us, he alerts us to humanity’s negative impact on the ecosystem, but also the beauty of the flora and fauna, and nature’s amazing ability to renew itself.

The work will be at Turner House Gallery in Penarth until 9th December, and will tour to Aberystwyth Arts Centre and the Mostyn Gallery in Llandudno next year.

Use the ffotogalery online learning resources to experience the work in the classroom or the gallery.

A downloadable guide and activity suggestions to using the work in the Classroom, and a short film highlighting the artist’s sketchbooks are available on the website. You will also find a podcast – a specially commissioned sound piece by composer Matthew Lovett, where you’ll hear Mike Perry discussing his artwork, the Welsh landscape and environmental changes that threaten it, against a backdrop of sound recorded and performed in the landscape.

The show is accompanied by a full colour publication. If you would like a free electronic copy, available to schools or colleges only, or would like to bring your group for a free exhibition tour, contact:
