Free ballet classes for disabled children in South Wales!

Flamingo Chicks have some funding to deliver free Nutcracker workshops in South Wales in the run up to Christmas.

Flamingo Chicks provide inclusive ballet classes giving disabled children the opportunity to enjoy ballet alongside their friends.

Their workshops are great fun – a mixture of dance and drama with lots of sensory equipment, storytelling and characterisation with the aim of improving balance, co-ordination, social skills and confidence.

All kinds of children take part in classes, including children who are visually impaired, those with autism, cerebral palsy, Downs Syndrome or PMLD as well as those with no additional needs. The classes actively celebrate what our children CAN do.

These sessions last around 45 minutes to an hour and can accommodate around 15 children.

They provide:

  • Tabards for the children to wear
  • DBS checked teacher for the session
  • Sensory equipment such as feathers, dance ribbons and silk petals
  • Class photography where photo consents are available
  • One-to-one attention for any children who need help

There are a limited number of workshops available and they must be delivered before the Christmas break so please contact them as soon as possible if you want to book.
