Drama | Exploring Welsh Playwrights – Keystage 3+

Tuesday 14th June 22 @ - ,

Tuesday 14 June 9.00am – 11.00am: online

Monday 20 June 1.00pm – 4.00pm at St David’s Hall, Cardiff

Performing Theatre – A Professional Development Module in two parts.

Louise is an extremely experienced theatre director and writer. She will share her practice in bringing text from the page onto the stage for the Actor. Experienced in working with new writing, she’ll offer experiential exercises and tasks exploring how to unlock meaning through character exploration, objectives, ‘layers of meaning’, authorial intention, text ‘play’, exploring the ‘world of the play’ and staging (as far as online working allows!)

Louise will also introduce participants to a range of Welsh Playwrights not currently included in the WJEC listings – but writers from more diverse and, perhaps, ‘relatable’ backgrounds for contemporary drama students.

In her concern for making this training relevant and useful, Louise would also work with the participating teachers to offer opportunities for sharing their challenges in the classroom and for sharing examples of ‘good practice’ between them.

Facilitator: Louise Osborn. Playwright, Screenwriter, Director and Dramaturge.

A Zoom link will be shared to all signed up to the course closer to the date.
