Teachers: The Director’s Craft – Devising, Design & Directing

Theatr Iolo and A2: Connect present this one day Professional Learning for teachers at keystage 2, 3 and above to develop their skills and understanding of the professional theatre directing process. Facilitated by professional theatre directors the day will focus on approaches to both text and devising work and explore the collaborative director/designer process.

This interactive and practical day will allow drama teachers to explore:

the stages of directing (preparation, rehearsal and production) 

a variety of approaches for the rehearsal room (including actioning and Laban) 

staging choices 

set, costume, sound and lighting design

approaches to the devising process



All A2: Connect Masterclasses and Professional Learning training courses are free for both Teachers and artists to attend and we are able to support teachers to attend by covering the cost of supply staff back in the classroom while you are away.

(This is limited to teachers from schools in the Central South region up to £150 per full day).
